VISIT TO DOHA OF THE MINISTER OF FOOD SOVEREIGNTY, AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY, FRANCESCO LOLLOBRIGIDA

The Minister of Food Sovereignty, Agriculture and Forestry, Hon. Francesco Lollobrigida, visited Doha, Qatar (10-12 October). The Minister was accompanied by a delegation of Italian companies in the agro-industrial sector, led by the Presidents of the Italian Trade Agency Matteo Zoppas, of Confagricoltura Massimiliano Giansanti and of MACFRUT Renzo Piraccini.

During his mission, together with the Italian Ambassador Paolo Toschi Minister Lollobrigida met his counterpart, the Minister of Municipality Abdullah Al Subaieh, with whom he examined the possibilities of collaboration in matters of food safety as well as bilateral investment perspectives.

Minister Lollobrigida was the guest of honour of the Italian National Day within the framework of Expo Doha 2023, the universal exhibition dedicated to sustainable agriculture and fighting desertification, in which Italy participates with a pavilion containing edge-cutting technologies, “The Garden of The Future”.

Minister Lollobrigida and the accompanying delegation also took part in an initiative to promote the candidacy of the Italian cuisine as a Unesco intangible heritage, open to the participation of the representatives of all the countries invlolved in Expo Doha.

The visit was also an opportunity to support the candidacy of Rome as the host city of EXPO 2030, with a specific events devoted to it hosted in the Italian Pavilion.
