(Doha, July 9, 2018) Starting today in Doha a two-day visit of an official delegation of the Italian National Coldiretti Union and Filiera Agricola Italiana Inc., organized with the support and in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Qatar and the local office of ITA, Italian Trade Agency.
Coldiretti is the main institutional agricultural organization by number of associates in Italy and in Europe, with 400.000 farms associated and 1.600.000 associate farmers. Coldiretti oversees, controls and supports the entire Italian agricultural production through an extensive network of 20 Regional Federations, 97 Town Federations, 802 Area Offices and 5.668 Territorial Departments.
The Italian agribusiness yearly turnover is of 274 billions euros and its export represents 38 billions euros.
Filiera Agricola Italiana Inc. is the Coldiretti commercial company and through its brand develops commercial projects and certifies the 100% Made in Italy products. Its brand guarantees agricultural values and promotes an ethical management model of the entire agriculture production chain, according to the highest standards, from raw materials to the final products.
The official delegation is led by the National President of Coldiretti, Roberto Moncalvo, and by the National President of Filiera Agricola Italiana, Ettore Prandini, and includes the main players of the Italian agricultural production and network.
During the visit, the delegation will meet the Government Authorities of the State of Qatar, public institutions and private companies in order to enhance the cooperation between Italy and Qatar in the agricultural field and to offer to Doha a very significant support in its food chain distribution.
