Consular services are provided according to the principles of equality, impartiality, efficiency, and transparency. Diplomatic and consular representations guarantee protection to all compatriots in cases of violation of their fundamental rights and in situations of restriction or deprivation of personal freedom. They also provide assistance in emergencies, in locating family members, in succession procedures opened abroad, and in the repatriation of remains.
