{"id":1991,"date":"2017-05-01T07:31:52","date_gmt":"2017-05-01T04:31:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambdoha.esteri.it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2017\/05\/italian-frigate-carabiniere-returns-2\/"},"modified":"2017-05-01T07:31:52","modified_gmt":"2017-05-01T04:31:52","slug":"italian-frigate-carabiniere-returns-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambdoha.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2017\/05\/italian-frigate-carabiniere-returns-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian frigate Carabiniere returns to Hamad Port (Gulf Times)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(Doha, GULF TIMES) &#8211; The Italian Navy frigate Carabiniere returned Sunday at Hamad Port after its first visit to Doha one year ago, Italian ambassador Pasquale Salzano has said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gives me the greatest honour to welcome Carabiniere to Doha as my first official commitment as Italian ambassador to Qatar,\u201d the envoy said. \u201cThis new port call witnesses the strength of the bilateral relations between Italy and Qatar in the defence sector.\u201d<br \/>\u201cThanks to the dedication of the institutions and the sponsor companies, we\u2019re bringing to Doha a striking sample of the excellence of the Italian industrial production,\u201d noted Salzano, as he lauded the state-of-the-art facilities at Hamad Port yesterday.<br \/>The vessel, an anti-submarine warfare unit, is equipped with systems designed, produced and integrated by Leonardo, a 30-year-old company in Qatar, which provides naval defence systems and later, security systems in air traffic management.<br \/>The frigate also has onboard the NH90 NFH multi-role helicopter with specific avionics and mission equipment for naval operations produced by Leonardo.<br \/>\u201cIt is the first occasion on my career that I am here in Doha.
