EUNIC Qatar offers crash courses in Doha in 11 European Languages

The European Day of Languages is celebrated each year on 26th September around the world to promote the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe.

The EUNIC Cluster in Qatar (17 EU countries) is holding the Fourth Edition of the European Day of Languages in Qatar in close cooperation with the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) – College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hamad Bin Khalifa University. On this occasion, crash courses in eleven European languages will be offered. The first of its kind cooperation between the Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) of the Hamad Bin Khalifa University and EUNIC is anticipated to be a fruitful one that gathers speakers, learners, and enthusiasts of the diverse European languages.

This event will allow participants to attend several lively introductory classes of European languages of their choice namely Bulgarian, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish and Swedish. Classes will be offered by qualified native speakers, and in many cases, instructors of the Language Center of TII.

The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Thursday, September 26th from 4 pm until 7pm, starting with a reception and opening remarks, followed by eleven parallel classes at Penrose House (LAS Building) in Education City.

About TII:
The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) is part of Hamad bin Khalifa University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. It was founded in 2012 with a remit to build capacity in Qatar and the region and to function as a physical and virtual space that delivers sophisticated translator and interpreter education, high-level training in a range of languages, and quality translation and interpreting services of the highest international standards. Its core mission is to equip students for a successful career as translators and interpreters in multiple language combinations.
