Italy participates in the trade fair AgriteQ-EnviroteQ

The Embassy of Italy in Doha announces its participation, in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in the trade fair AgriteQ-EnviroteQ, organized by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of the State of Qatar from the 23rd to the 27th of March 2021 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).

Italy’s booth will showcase the innovative technologies in the fields of agriculture and environment of 11 virtually-present Italian companies: AgriBio Srl (SeedFuture Group), Faber-Com Srl, Horto (FRI-EL GREEN HOUSE Srl), Idromeccanica Lucchini Spa, Kiasma Srl, Leonardo Spa, Maire Tecnimont Spa, NextChem Spa, Ponics Srl, Saipem Spa e Watercube Srl. Visitors will be able to learn about Italian high-tech products and services, as well as to book virtual business-to-business meetings with the assistance of the Italian Trade Agency.

H.E. the Ambassador of Italy to the State of Qatar, Alessandro Prunas: “Our attendance at AgriteQ & EnviroteQ underscores the primary role of Italy in green innovation and ecological transition. Following the round table on Green Economy co-chaired last December by the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications, Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, and our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luigi Di Maio, Italy is committed to continue a successful cooperation with Qatar on green growth and energy transition. We are very glad to participate in this exhibition and be able to show the innovative environmental and agricultural solutions which the Italian companies can offer.”

The Italian exhibition booth will also include an area dedicated to Italy’s role in climate diplomacy and youth climate engagement. In November Italy is co-hosting in Glasgow the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in partnership with the UK. Under this partnership agreement, Italy will host in Milan the Pre-COP – the preparatory meeting of ministers – taking place from September 30th to October 2nd, and the youth event “Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition” at the end of September.

Italy’s environmental and climate agenda will also hold a central place in its 2021 presidency of the G20 – the international forum that brings together the world’s major economies. A transition towards renewable energies and a green recovery is among the main priorities promoted by the Italian Presidency of the G20. In addition, Italy will also host the Pre-Summit gathering for the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit which will be held in Rome from July 19 to July 21.

“Climate change, environment protection, food security and prosperity are all strictly interconnected. In 2021 Italy has a great responsibility in contributing to respond to global challenges and in encouraging the transition towards a sustainable and greener growth”, concludes Ambassador Prunas. “AgriteQ & EnviroteQ Exhibition is the ideal framework to introduce Italy’s comprehensive vision and strategy. Italy and Qatar are dedicated partners whose joint commitment can make the difference in leading the way towards energy efficiency, innovative technologies and digitalization”.
