The Italian Minister for Youth policies and Sport Vincenzo Spadafora visited Doha on September 26th and 27th, 2019, to attend the official opening ceremony of the World Athletics Championships, in the presence of H.H. the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and to support the Italian team.
Upon His arrival, the Minister met a group of Italian athletes at Casa Atletica Italiana – Italian headquarters as well as press center and promotional space for Italian sport, design and Made in Italy – and participated in the press conference with the President of the Italian Federation of Athletics (FIDAL), Alfio Giomi, and H.E. the Ambassador of Italy in Qatar, Pasquale Salzano, in the afternoon.
Moreover, the Minister Spadafora met the Minister of Sport and Culture of Qatar, H.E. Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, and the President of the International Federation of Athletics after a visit at the prestigious sports training and education center Aspire Academy.
