Italian Prime Minister Conte visits Qatar

The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, during his visit in Doha, met His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, H.E. the Prime Minister and Ministry of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and H.E. the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. After the official meetings, the Prime Minister Conte visited the recently-inaugurated National Museum of Qatar, where he was welcomed and accompanied by H.E. Sheikha Mayassa bint Nasser Al Thani, sister of the Emir and President of Qatar Museums.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister Conte inaugurated the new venue of the Embassy of Italy at the Alfardan Towers, where he attended the announcement by the Secretary General Alessandro Masi of “Società Dante Alighieri” of the creation in Qatar of a local association formed to promote learning and cultural activities.

The Italian Prime Minister also went to the new DECC Metro Station to visit the infrastructure accomplished by Salini Impregilo with Italiana Costruzioni and iGuzzini, as well as the Al Khor Stadium – being built by Italian companies – that will host matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Prime Minister Conte visited an hypermarket of LuLu Group which – thanks to an agreement with Coldiretti – has opened corners in all its points of sale entirely dedicated to 100% Italian food products.
